Year Five Teacher

Our Lady of Mercy is a double-stream co-educational Catholic primary school catering for students from Kindergarten to Year Six. Through high-quality teaching, strong English language support, and a deep commitment to student wellbeing, every child is supported to feel secure, learn with confidence, and grow in faith and friendship.

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic educator to join our dynamic teaching and learning team in a Maternity Leave Replacement position.

We pride ourselves on delivering an individualised curriculum within an inclusive environment where every student is known, valued, and supported. Our school is well resourced and committed to progressive, evidence-based teaching and learning practices across all year levels.

Selection Criteria

The Successful Applicant Will Demonstrate

An understanding of, and commitment to, the ethos of Catholic education
A strong knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum
Inclusive teaching practices that support students with diverse learning, social and cultural needs, with a consistent focus on safety and wellbeing
The ability to use a range of assessment and reporting strategies to monitor student progress
Skill in analysing and using data to inform teaching and improve student achievement
Proficiency in Digital Technologies, including iPad integration across curriculum areas
Effective classroom management and organisational skills that foster a safe, supportive learning environment
The capacity to work professionally, collaboratively, and cooperatively within a dedicated team, with a commitment to ongoing professional growth
The ability to authentically build positive and respectful relationships with students, staff, and families

Qualifications Required

Relevant four year tertiary qualification
Accreditation to Teach Religious Education
