ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an exceptional educator to join our Bundoora campus as an Assistant Principal, commencing in Term 1, 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity for a leader who is passionate about Science of Learning principles, including Explicit and Direct Instruction, and who is committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of our students.

The Assistant Principal role includes a 0.5 teaching load.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Current VIT Registration
Demonstrated understanding of child safety obligations and a strong commitment to maintaining a child-safe environment
A strong understanding of, and commitment to, the Science of Learning
Experience in upper primary and/or lower secondary teaching
Demonstrated expertise in Direct Instruction and Explicit Instruction methodologies (preferred)
Proven ability to lead and mentor staff, with a focus on instructional coaching and evidence-based practice
Demonstrated capacity to build a positive, productive and high-expectations school culture
Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing demands
Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and families
Strong references attesting to reliability, teamwork, professional conduct, and dedication

This is a full-time position, commencing Term 1, 2026.
