The Role: Early Childhood Specialist
As our Early Childhood Specialist, you'll be the driving force behind strengthening and aligning Council resources to ensure every child and family in our community can thrive. You'll collaborate across functions, bringing your expertise in early childhood development, evidence-based literacy strategies, and best practices to the table.
What You'll Be Doing
- Champion Early Childhood Education: Provide insights and expertise to shape program strategies and service delivery.
- Innovate for Impact: Incorporate best practices to design and deliver services that maximize early literacy outcomes and foster a thriving community.
- Lead and Coordinate: Offer specialist advice and coordinate a range of early childhood programs and initiatives.
- Collaborate with Libraries: Work with library teams to curate book collections that reflect current research and provide enriching experiences for participants.
- Break Down Barriers: Develop solutions to remove participation barriers for disadvantaged families.
- Connect Communities: Identify opportunities and support connections to various programs and activities, including playgroups, community gardens, libraries, and more.
- Guide and Advise: Provide recommendations and guidance to Council staff delivering services to young children and families.
- Drive Improvement: Monitor and support service delivery to identify areas for continuous improvement.
- Promote Frameworks: Develop, maintain, and promote the Council's Early Childhood Development Framework.
- Advocate and Report: Prepare briefing papers and business case reports to translate research and analysis into actionable service delivery options.
What You'll Bring To Our Team
