About The Role
The Academic Services Manager plays a key role in managing and maintaining smooth and efficient services in a range of academic functions. In this newly created position, the incumbent will work with stakeholders in the Schools and administrative teams to ensure consistent and high-quality delivery of activities throughout the student lifecycle, including student progression, grades release, academic misconduct and at-risk intervention.
This position can be located in Sydney or Melbourne
The role will also support the Dean in ensuring teaching and learning staff are supported in delivering a high-quality student experience, by contributing to the implementation of the Scholarly Activity Framework, the maintenance of the course repositories and the student survey processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the process of supporting students with Reasonable Adjustments as per the relevant policy
- Support the Student Administration team and contribute to the Ikon at-risk intervention and student progression framework
- Oversee the Misconduct Officer duties for academic and non-academic misconduct cases
- In conjunction with Student Administration, compile, collate, summarise and distribute findings from end-of-trimester student surveys, including closing the loop responses to students
- Manage institutional course and subject repositories, ensuring correct, accurate and updated information is accessible at all times
- Support the Schools and Student administration in grades finalization and release, including supplementary assessment marks
- Support the Dean in managing cyclical course reviews
- Provide support in disseminating and collating information of staff scholarly activity
- Conduct regular internal audits on Learning Management System (LMS) pages, ensuring accurate, clear and updated information for students
- Maintain lecturing support pages in the LMS
- Participate in academic events, such as orientation, as required
Education, Experience And Skills
- Bachelor or higher qualification preferred
- Minimum 5 years' experience in an administrative or academic services function in an education setting
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures in action
- Understanding of higher education systems and processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office365
- Positive attitude and ability to think creatively and bring innovation to EDU and its subsidiaries
- Cross cultural awareness
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work autonomously and in a team
