About The Role
The Family Life Educator (FLE) is to facilitate the Growing Towards Wholeness puberty program to Years 4-6 students and/or their parents and carers. You will assist parents and carers in understanding the content of the student presentation and to support them with the conversations they will continue at home with their child. This is done either face-to-face or online, depending on the requirements and needs of each school.
Some Of Your Responsibilities Will Be To
Maintain professional currency and familiarity with related literature and practices in relation to the facilitation of Family Life EducationAttend and participate in individual and group supervision as scheduledComply with all agency and program policies and procedures including all documentation and administrative tasks required by the programOperate as a solo worker in ‘outreach’ settings
We predominantly service Catholic Schools within the Archdiocese of Sydney, as well as some from neighbouring diocese.
About You
To be considered in this role you will have:
Relevant qualifications in Psychology/Social Work/Education and/or relevant experience and the willingness to complete CatholicCare’s internal training program (within the required timeframe) or Australian Council of Natural Family Planning (ACNFP) Educator AccreditationProficiency in the use of technology associated with giving presentations, including being able to set up computers and projectors, using software such as Canva, PowerPoint, Zoom and videosHighly developed organisational and time management skills and ability to actively collaborate, communicate clearly and respond with respect Knowledge and experience in Family Life Education, or willingness to learnWillingness to teach the Catholic perspective of content covered in the NSW NESA PDHPE syllabus as presented in the "Growing Towards Wholeness" Program Demonstrated experience presenting and facilitating workshops including the ability to build rapport with an audience and adapt the message to suit the audienceFlexibility to facilitate sessions within school hours (student sessions) and after hours (parent sessions)Current Working with Children Check, Current Driver’s Licence, Compulsory Third Party Insurance (CTP) and access to a registered vehicleAbility to undertake the duties of the role in accordance with CatholicCare Sydney Mission, Vision and Values
