Role And Responsibilities
The Head of EdTech is a leader and educator who plays a vital role in building staff capacity and curiosity to integrate educational technologies into teaching to enhance learning outcomes. The Head of EdTech works collaboratively with teaching staff from ELC - Year 12 to enhance classroom practice, foster innovation, and improve student learning outcomes through the effective use of digital tools, platforms and innovations. The main objective for the Head of EdTech is to design an endorsed EdTech roadmap establishing the use of purposeful technology (including AI) within the school, to guide, evaluate and select tools that support teaching and student learning. This includes the promotion of safe and ethical practices for our students, staff and broader community.
The position includes a 0.6 teaching load that comprises options across different year levels of our technology curriculum spanning Year 5 - Year 12. The ideal candidate will also be experienced in implementing digital pedagogies that enhance student engagement and learning outcomes and be experienced in introducing new initiatives to a school environment.
This is a full-time position with a five (5) year contract. Specific classes and year levels taught will be determined according to the candidate’s expertise, experience and operational requirements.
About You
- Appropriate teaching qualifications and registration (VIT registration essential).
- Proven experience in teaching Technology subjects to students across different age groups, VCE an advantage.
- A passion for the ever-evolving world of technology (including AI) and a desire to share this enthusiasm with our students and staff.
- Experience in implementing technology to support effective teaching and learning practice.
- Possess a broad understanding of and confidence in the use of the latest communication tools and technologies.
- Ability to inspire and guide staff to adapt their teaching practice.
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to connect with students and parents.
- A proven capacity for innovative, flexible and research-based teaching practices.
