Position Information
Liverpool Boys High School is a comprehensive boys school in the south west of Sydney. It has 540 students, 88% from a language background other than English representing nearly 60 cultural groups. The school has a 3-class support unit. The school slogan is "We Choose our Success" drawing on the key principles of choice, personalisation and achievement. The school has a strong commitment from staff to a culture of innovation including our vertical senior school, Project Based Learning, Capabilities Assessment 7 – 12 and the Big Picture Education Australia academy. The school has received significant equity funding for many years. The school has won the secretaries’ award for outstanding school initiatives 6 years in a row. Over the next 3 years the school will merge with Liverpool Girls High School to become one co-ed school catering for up to 2000 students in a new build.
General Selection Criteria
- Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
- Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
- Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
- Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
- Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Specific Selection Criteria
In addition to the general selection criteria,
Demonstrated capacity to lead and support staff throughout a process of significant and ongoing change.
Proven ability to lead and collaborate strategically to drive innovation and improvement across school pedagogies and practices.
Demonstrated expertise in student centred decision making for improvement in student learning and wellbeing outcomes.
Demonstrated commitment to equitable and inclusive leadership practices for students, staff and the community.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
