Education
Cape York Aboriginal Australian Academy education model is centred on a strong belief that every child can achieve successful outcomes. It has two core priorities:
- Effective teaching - a high-quality teaching program supported by professional learning for school teams and a strong commitment to continuous school improvement.
- Student wellbeing - delivered through the Every Child is Special program, which is evidence-based and underpinned by strong family and community engagement.
The education program was specifically designed to meet the needs of Cape York Aboriginal Australian Academy campuses in Coen and Hope Vale, and is built on the Direct Instruction model, which emphasises explicit teaching.

You will be requested to attend a Cape York Aboriginal Australian Academy leader recruitment virtual workshop program and complete the Introduction to Effective Instruction training on appointment.
- Deliver the vision of the department
- Lead and implement all aspects of the Cape York Aboriginal Australian Academy education program at Hopevale Campus.
- Improve the educational outcomes of students
- Develop the quality of teaching and learning
- Nurture positive relationships between students, teachers, the community and stakeholders.

What You Bring
- Relevant middle leadership experience in curriculum and instruction.
- Experience in the delivery of Direct Instruction and/or Explicit Direct Instruction.
