ROLE SUMMARY:
A Primary Teacher at Reddam House plays a vital role in fostering the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of young learners. This position is responsible for delivering a well-rounded education that meets curriculum guidelines while nurturing a positive learning environment.
You will engage students in a variety of subject areas, utilising creative and effective teaching methods that cater to diverse learning needs. The role contributes significantly to the school’s mission of providing an innovative, holistic, and student-centred education, ensuring that each child reaches their full potential. In 2026, we will expand our student body from 500 to 850, and in preparation for this exciting growth, we are seeking outstanding educators to join our team in a limited number of newly created positions to start in January.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lesson Planning: Develop daily and long-term lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards.
- Subject Instruction: Teach a broad range of subjects including English, maths, science, humanities, arts, health, and PE.
- Classroom Management: Organise and maintain an engaging, well-resourced, and orderly classroom environment.
- Creative Learning: Use activities like art, games, music, and sports to enhance student engagement and development.
- Student Supervision: Ensure student safety and well-being throughout the school day, including during breaks.
- Assessment & Reporting: Evaluate student progress through assessments and provide feedback to students, parents, and staff.
- Pastoral Care: Support students’ emotional and social development and address any arising concerns.
- School Participation: Attend meetings, assemblies, and professional development sessions; engage in school events.
- Parent Engagement: Communicate with parents during open days and parent evenings to discuss student progress.
- Additional Duties: May include Year Coordinator responsibilities and participation in excursions, camps, and extracurricular activities.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Proven experience in teaching at the primary school level, with a strong understanding of curriculum requirements.
- Excellent classroom management skills, with a focus on creating a positive and disciplined learning environment.
- Strong assessment and evaluation skills, with the ability to monitor and report on student progress accurately.
- Experience in organising and supervising school activities and events.
- Proficient in using educational technologies and creative teaching methods to enhance the learning experience

QUALIFICATIONS:

- A valid Working with Children Check.
- Provide lunch & playground cover and assist with pick up & drop off duties.
- Ongoing commitment to professional development and maintaining NESA accreditation.
- Willingness to attend school events outside regular hours as required (e.g., performances, parent-teacher interviews, etc.).
