About Centrecare

The Role
Parent Educator will provide a range of screening and assessment, counselling, group facilitation and appropriate support services to support parents build their skills, knowledge and confidence using a range of early childhood and family focussed initiatives in a professional and ethical manner that reflects the ethos and practice of the Centrecare program requirements.
A few specifics
- Undertake screening and assessments, and case management using approaches that are appropriate to program requirements.
- Assess, identify, and develop interventions, including referral, where risk may be present, such as Family and Domestic Violence, child abuse, drug and alcohol and mental health.
- Assess, identify, and develop interventions that both acknowledge and offer solutions where power imbalance is a serious issue.
- Conduct all practice with a child focused approach.
Selection Criteria
- Bachelor in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling or Law.
- 1-3 years’ experience in delivering parenting programs or services.
- Experience in group facilitation and provision of one-to-one supports.
- Demonstrated experience in intake, assessment and case management
- Experience and knowledge of domestic violence and family law
- Knowledge and experience in early intervention and prevention program services.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver and evaluate personal and relationship education programs relevant to children.
- WA Drivers licence.
- National Police Certificate (within 12 months validity).
- Working with Children Check (or the ability to obtain).
