About the role
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Teacher of Building Design to join our dedicated team at Newcastle Campus on a permanent, full-time basis.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high‑quality building design education to Certificate IV and Diploma students, supporting the development of their technical capabilities and ensuring a strong understanding of current industry standards and practices.
As a Teacher of Building Design, you will bring experience and confidence in utilising CAD software, particularly Revit and/or ArchiCAD. The ideal candidate will also bring demonstrated design experience in Residential Class 1 housing, Multi‑Dwelling Class 2 developments, and commercial or mixed‑use buildings.
About You
You will have:
- Have appropriate subject knowledge, skills and vocational qualifications with a minimum level of Diploma of Building Design or Degree in Architecture or above/equivalent.
- Advanced skills in CAD Design.
- Minimum of three years post-qualification experience in industry relevant to your qualifications, gained no longer than five years previously.
- Evidence of holding the appropriate teaching qualifications to deliver Vocational Education and Training. See the candidate support document (here) for details
- Be prepared to continue to develop their Vocational Education and Training (VET) knowledge and skills as well as their industry currency and trainer/assessor competence.
Highly Regarded (but not essential):
- Be a Registered Architect (NSW) (preferrable) or Registered Building Designer with Class 2, 3 Building Practitioner registration
