At Centenary State High School, the Head of Department - Physical Education will lead a dedicated faculty committed to excellence in teaching, learning, and student wellbeing. You will oversee the delivery of engaging HPE programs, shaping curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment practices, while fostering collaboration, innovation, and a positive school-wide culture. This is a temporary full-time position until 11 December 2026, unless otherwise determined.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
- Lead the department in delivering the Australian Curriculum v.9, embedding evidence-based strategies to improve student outcomes across Health & Physical Education and related programs.
- Provide strong instructional leadership, fostering a culture of high expectations that supports both staff and students to achieve excellence and reach their full potential.
- Mentor, coach, and support teachers through collaborative planning, professional learning, and classroom guidance to build capability and a high-performing team.
- Promote positive student engagement through sport, physical activity, wellbeing initiatives, enrichment programs, and problem-solving opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong, productive relationships with students, staff, families, and community partners to enhance participation and achievement.
- Coordinate the Metropolitan Sports Director portfolio, ensuring effective leadership in co-curricular sport and student engagement.
