New Farm State School invites applications for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Principal to join their leadership team. As Principal you will play a vital role in delivering the vision of the department, improving the educational outcome of all students and nurturing positive relationships between students, teachers and stakeholders. This is a temporary full-time position until 26 June 2026, unless otherwise determined.
About Us
New Farm State School was built in 1901, our school embraces strong traditions, community values and the rich diversity of our local area. As the heart of the New Farm community, we foster a supportive and inclusive environment where staff, students and families work together to create a culture of care, respect and lifelong learning. We encourage active parental involvement and engagement with our Parents and Citizen's Association, strengthening the bonds between school and home.
Over the past three years, New Farm State School has shown significant growth. This growth has put some pressure on school facilities and play space. However it has been monitored though the school's enrolment management plan implemented since 2004.
Presently, New Farm State School boasts a full range of curriculum offerings including enhanced services in the areas of languages other than English, the arts and technology. Support services are also offered in literacy and numeracy and community influences are recognised through our school's enrichment program, community education program and school curriculum plan.
About The Role
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
- Develop and lead a shared educational vision focused on achieving quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Model ethical and values-based leadership by upholding the moral responsibilities of the principalship and embedding socially just practices in school life.
- Promote high standards and continuous improvement by setting strong expectations for staff and students and engaging in lifelong learning and professional development.
- Build collaborative partnerships with parents, community groups, government agencies, industry and business to support student learning.
- Lead strategically and responsibly by understanding relevant legislation and policies while managing resources effectively to achieve school goals.
