About the role
Step into a pivotal Level 3 role where you’ll shape the future of Orthopaedic perioperative nursing at Burnside Hospital. As our Perioperative Educator Orthopaedics, you’ll provide a structured education and mentoring program for scrub/scout teams ready to meet the evolving demands of our surgical service. From hands‑on clinical training and simulation to competency assessment, onboarding, and one‑on‑one coaching, you’ll play a central role in developing our workforce, elevating clinical practice and the delivery of exceptional patient care.
Working across both our Toorak Gardens and Stepney sites, you’ll collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to support safe and efficient perioperative workflows, contribute to quality improvement, and strengthen internal capability through targeted development initiatives. This permanent full‑time role (with part‑time negotiable) is suited to an experienced clinician‑educator with strong orthopaedic scrub/scout expertise who thrives on clinical leadership and team development.
We are seeking an energetic and knowledgeable individual who is passionate about perioperative education, brings proven experience in clinical teaching or training, and demonstrates contemporary orthopaedic knowledge. Strong coaching, communication and interpersonal skills, along with a resilient and proactive approach that inspires others, are essential.
If you’re committed to developing perioperative talent and want to work with an employer who values your contribution and supports long‑term career growth, we’d love to welcome you.
