The role

We are seeking committed professionals to support Council's Children's Centres in delivering high-quality early childhood education and care.
In this role, you will be responsible for creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for children to learn and grow. Building positive relationships with children and families is essential, along with maintaining a strong child safeguarding culture—upholding zero tolerance for abuse or harm.

We have 8 casual Educator (Diploma) positions available across all of our Children’s Services. This includes Hurlstone Park, Earlwood, Lakemba and Punchbowl Children’s Centres and Carrington Centre Preschool and Occasional Care (Campsie).
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Ensure compliance with the Early Education and Care National Law and Regulations, including the National Quality Standards, at all times.
- Assist in the implementation of an innovative and reflective early childhood education program that is reflective of the principles, practices, and outcomes of the National Early Years Learning Framework.
- Contribute to a collaborative team through shared learning, a positive attitude, and sound communications skills.
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, colleagues, and professionals, while working together to create a tailored curriculum that reflects each child's strengths, needs, and interests.
- Observe and document children’s learning and development using a variety of methods.

You will have
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education
- Working with Children Check
- Identify and Respond to Children and Young People at Risk of Significant Harm.
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate including Asthma and Anaphylaxis.
- Experience in providing quality learning experiences and environments for young children.
- Knowledge and understanding of child development and learning.
- Knowledge and experience in implementing the National Early Years learning Framework.
The salary range for this opportunity starts at $39.4616 per hour (Grade D, Step1) + 12% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
