Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Principal, based in Darwin, NT. The Principal will provide visionary leadership and manage school operations to ensure a Christ-centered, high-quality educational environment. Responsibilities include overseeing academic programs, fostering staff professional growth, managing budgets, ensuring compliance with educational standards, engaging with families and the broader community, and embodying and promoting the mission and values of NT Christian Schools. The Principal will also support a collaborative school culture and make decisions that inspire holistic growth in students and staff alike.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the College Executive and overall school operations
- Deliver high-quality, Christ-centred curriculum and educational leadership
- Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team and Board to drive excellence in culture, curriculum, and outcomes
- Strengthen academic performance and student achievement across all areas
- Foster smooth student transitions into Years 11 and 12 within the NT Christian Schools network
- Build strong partnerships with parents, staff, and the wider community
- Oversee staff development, performance, and pastoral care
- Manage financial operations and contribute to strategic planning
- Support and report to the School Council and Board through the CEO
- Represent and promote the College within the local community and broader region
- Contribute to the spiritual life of the school through leadership in Christian activities
- Ensure alignment with the organisation’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities
- Lead daily operations including staffing, compliance, and marketing

Essential Criteria
- A committed Christian actively involved in a local church
- Proven experience in Christian education and school leadership
- Demonstrated ability to lead and improve educational outcomes
- Strong leadership, organisational, and decision-making skills
- Experience in staff leadership, development, and performance management
- Ability to contribute effectively within a collaborative leadership team
- Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills
- Experience managing curriculum aligned with the Australian Curriculum from a biblical perspective
- Strong analytical and reporting capabilities
Desirable
- Experience working with government bodies or executive teams
- Familiarity with systems such as Technology One, Canvas, Compass, or Edval
- Master of Education (or willingness to undertake further study)
- Certificate of Christian Education
Requirements
- Valid Working with Children (Ochre) Card
- Current NT Police Check (within 12 months)
- Registration with the NT Teacher Registration Board
- NT Driver’s Licence (or ability to obtain)
