Our Council owned Children’s Services Centre provide high quality education and care programs that are delivered by our highly qualified, dedicated and passionate educators, teachers and staff within a supportive and nurturing environment for all children.
The program encourages children and families to work together in collaboration with the service to share their interests and needs.
The role:
As an Early Childhood Teacher within WELS, you will lead a vibrant kindergarten program within a long day care setting. You will inspire curiosity and a love of learning through intentional teaching, reflective practice and responsive curriculum design.
Key aspects of the role include:
- Planning, documenting and evaluating children’s learning in line with the VEYLDF and NQF
- Assessing individual learning and scaffolding children’s development and interests.
- Building strong, respectful partnerships with families and professionals.
- Mentoring educators and students in high quality pedagogical practice.
- Contributing to the centre Quality Improvement Plan and service promotion.
- Ensuring compliance with Child Safe Standards, legislation and Council policies.
You are a passionate and reflective teacher who brings:
- Demonstrated experience delivering a high quality kindergarten program.
- Strong communication and relationship building skills.
- Confidence in curriculum decision making and assessment of learning.
- Ability to mentor and guide educators in planning and reflection.
- Initiative, creativity and sound professional judgement.
- Practical skills in technology for programming and documentation.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor of Early Childhood (or ACECQA-approved equivalent).
- Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.
- Current First Aid/CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma certificates.
- National Criminal History Check.
- Commitment to child safety and Council immunisation requirements.
