Each position carries responsibility for leading a strong pastoral culture, supporting student wellbeing and engagement, and contributing to whole College improvement through collaborative, shared and relational leadership. About the Roles All Positions of Leadership at John Paul College are grounded in the College’s Four Pillars of Culture — Unity, Support, Growth and Responsibility. Leaders are expected to model these pillars through their relationships, decision making and leadership practice, contributing to a consistent and compassionate pastoral approach across the College.Across these roles, leaders will:
- Provide visible, compassionate and consistent pastoral leadership for students
- Work in partnership with co-leaders and within shared leadership structures to ensure continuity and alignment
- Support and guide staff in effective pastoral practice and wellbeing support and relational engagement
- Foster inclusive, respectful and connected learning communities
- Contribute to the development and implementation of year level, house and whole College pastoral programs, including the Horizons Program
- Collaborate closely with colleagues, families and College leaders to support student growth and engagement
- Uphold child safety obligations and model professionalism, integrity and accountability
The roles operate within a broader Pastoral Care structure and require strong relational skills, sound judgement and a commitment to collective responsibility.About You Applicants will demonstrate:
- A strong commitment to Catholic education and the mission and ethos of John Paul College
- Proven pastoral leadership skills within a secondary school context
- The ability to build positive, trusting and respectful relationships with students, staff and families
- Experience supporting student wellbeing, engagement and growth
- A collaborative leadership style and a commitment to reflective practice and professional learning
- Current Victorian Institute of Teaching registration

Position Details:
- The tenure for the above positions will be three years with successful candidates also receiving an ongoing teaching position.
