Year 4 Class Teacher (Maternity Leave Cover)

Al-Hidayah Islamic School is a K–6 independent Islamic primary school in Bentley, established in 1994. We provide high-quality education grounded in the Qur’an and Sunnah and aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum, nurturing confident learners with strong Islamic character.

This maternity leave cover position is for a Year 4 class across Semester Two, 2026, with potential for extension. The successful applicant will commence on Monday, 22 June 2026, allowing for a two-week handover before the end of Term 2, and time during the term break for planning and preparation.
The successful candidate will embrace a holistic, child-centred approach to learning, build strong partnerships with families and colleagues, and show a willingness to learn about and implement aspects of Walker Learning. They will join a collaborative team that values professional growth, reflective practice, and excellence through an Islamic lens.
We’re Looking For Someone Who Will
- Support and uphold the Islamic vision and ethos of the school.
- Possess sound knowledge of Islam based on Qur’an and Sunnah, and its application in educational settings.
- Be proficient in delivering the Western Australian Curriculum.
- Embrace inquiry-based and play-based pedagogies.
- Foster an inclusive, engaging, and respectful classroom environment.
- Demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Be fluent in English and able to teach effectively in it.
Selection Criteria
- Proven experience in best practices for teaching primary-aged students.
- Strong knowledge of literacy and numeracy in the middle primary years.
- Ability to differentiate learning to meet diverse needs.
- Confident in using ICT to support student learning.
- Innovative, adaptable, and committed to reflective practice.
