The Position
The
Education Officer – Religious Education plays a vital role in strengthening Catholic identity and enhancing the quality of Religious Education across our secondary schools. The successful applicant will provide leadership, mentoring, and curriculum support to Principals, APREs, Religious Education Coordinators, and teachers, ensuring that Religious Education is delivered with excellence, faithfulness, and cultural responsiveness.
This is a full-time permanent position, commencing as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities
As Education Officer – Religious Education, you will:
- Strengthen Catholic Identity across the Diocese through high-quality Religious Education, faith formation, and contemporary pedagogy.
- Support schools to implement the Journey in Faith, Made in the Image of God, and SACE Spiritualities, Religion and Meaning curriculum frameworks.
- Build capability across school teams by providing mentoring, professional learning, and modelling engaging, data-informed Religious Education practice.
- Design and lead staff faith formation, including prayer, liturgy, and Catholic identity initiatives that support spiritual and professional growth.
- Provide targeted curriculum and pedagogical support to Aboriginal Catholic Community Schools, empowering them to deliver culturally responsive and contextually meaningful Religious Education pathways.

About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Upholds and actively lives the Catholic ethos as a practising Catholic.
- Brings experience teaching Religious Education and leading contemporary curriculum implementation.
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of current developments in Religious Education pedagogy and assessment.
- Collaborates effectively with school leaders, teachers, and colleagues to build a cohesive, mission-driven team environment.
- Is registered (or eligible for registration) with the NT Teacher Registration Board.
- Holds a current Working with Children (Ochre) Card and NT Driver’s Licence.
