About The Organisation
Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA) Flexible Schools Ltd currently educates over 2,700 young people in 22 Flexible Learning Schools (12 based in Queensland and 10 other schools across Australia) and two Special Education Services Schools in NSW, with approximately 800 staff nationally. Flexi schools serve young people who experience complex educational, social or psychological situations which demand unique responses. They enable young people to engage in education in a supported learning environment through a methodology based on trauma informed practice, to co-create a Common Ground using Operation by Principles, in which the principles of Honesty, Respect, Participation, Safe & Legal are embedded. Our special schools serve young people with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities.
St Francis Flexible School offers a full-time and multiyear secondary education program for young people who have disengaged from mainstream schooling. Flexible Schools respond with a variety of flexible and innovative teaching and learning practices, including vocational planning and the development of social connectedness.
About The Role
The Teacher Assistant is responsible for providing effective, specialised educational support for Young People to enable enhanced learning outcomes and affective communication.
This role requires applying specialised knowledge, skills and expertise in specific areas of learning using diagnostic and theoretical techniques and acts under the directions of the Principal via the Head of Campus.
Teacher Assistants work mostly indoors in classrooms, libraries and other school buildings. They may undertake bus
