About The Role
We are seeking a passionate and engaging Mathematics Teacher to join the Mathematics Faculty at Sheldon College.
In this role, you will deliver high-quality teaching and learning programs across Mathematics, with a focus on supporting strong student engagement, confidence and academic achievement. You will work within a dynamic and collaborative team of educators, contributing to a contemporary curriculum aligned with ACARA and QCAA requirements.
You will utilise evidence-based teaching strategies and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, reflection and professional growth.
This role includes a strong commitment to student safety and wellbeing, ensuring all practices align with the College’s Child Protection policies, duty of care obligations and relevant legislative requirements.
This role commences Term 3, 2026.

About You
- Relevant tertiary teaching qualifications in Mathematics and/or Education
- Current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration
- Demonstrated experience delivering Mathematics curriculum in Secondary Education
- Ability to plan and deliver engaging and effective teaching and learning programs aligned with ACARA and QCAA
- Passion for quality teaching and learning with a focus on strong student engagement and academic outcomes
- Ability to apply creative and innovative teaching practices and digital tools to support student learning
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues
- A collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to a team environment
- High standards of professionalism, integrity and personal presentation
- A warm, engaging and student-centred approach
Child Safety and Wellbeing
- Demonstrated understanding of child safety, wellbeing and duty of care responsibilities
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for all students
- Ability to uphold and implement the College’s Student Safety and Wellbeing policies
- Ability to apply a culturally sensitive and trauma-informed approach in all child wellbeing activities and child safety matters
Completion of mandatory Child Protection training prior to undertaking duties
