The Head of Senior School (Berwick) is an important leadership position at Haileybury responsible for leading Years 9-12 at our Berwick campus. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and values-driven educational leader to foster a culture of excellence, wellbeing and inclusion, grounded in Haileybury’s Magenta Principles. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong educational leadership, sound pastoral care, and a commitment to education in the Senior Years.
All Heads of School at Haileybury maintain a classroom-based teaching load. Applicants should refer to the Classroom Teacher Position Description in conjunction with this role.
Key Responsibilities
As the Head of Senior School (Berwick) you will:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of Berwick Senior School, including staff and student management.
- Foster a strong academic, pastoral and community culture through leadership and event coordination.
- Manage student wellbeing, discipline, attendance and uniform standards in collaboration with key Senior School leaders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with parents, students and the wider school community.
- Conduct enrolment interviews, campus tours and attend information evenings as required.
- Contribute to Senior School Executive meetings and liaise with campus leaders regarding site operations and student matters.
- Support staff performance, professional growth and the delivery of academic programs in partnership with Senior School leadership.
- Coordinate student movement between Berwick and Keysborough campuses when required.

- Current VIT registration (or ability to obtain).
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
