The Role
Reporting directly to the Deputy Principal – Head of Malvern Junior Campus and working closely with the Junior School Leadership team, the Deputy Head of Campus - Malvern Junior will support the strategic agenda of the School and be a pedagogical leader dedicated to driving the outcomes of the Teaching and Learning agenda and with learning guided by the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP). As a member of the Campus Leadership Team, the Deputy Head of Campus will effectively develop and manage employees and the day-to-day operations of the Junior School with a commitment to and aligned with, the values of Caulfield Grammar School.
This role is a permanent teaching position commencing on 1 July 2027, with a fixed-term Position of Responsibility concluding in December 2031.
Key Duties
- Actively collaborate with the Campus Leadership Team to lead the School’s strategy, assurance measures, business plans and organisational goals.
- Lead the investigation and implementation of Junior School initiatives to leverage operational improvement.
- Drive a proactive approach to student wellbeing supporting staff with pastoral care strategies.
- Management and implementation of systems to monitor standards of safety, social conduct, uniform, punctuality and attendance.
- Management of daily school operations, budgets, and compliance with a focus on safety, effectiveness and continuous improvement.
- Assist in developing the School’s internal leadership capability, including a high-performance culture identifying talent focussed on excellence, improvement and accountability across the campus.
- Nurture a sense of shared purpose and direction by actively promoting the School’s vision and creating alignment within and between the sub-schools and co-curricular areas.
- Uphold and ensure adherence to the School’s Child Safety Code of Conduct, including the Child Safe Standards, and demonstrate behaviours in accordance with these.
- Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours.
Skills And Experience
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and fostering collaboration for consistent outcomes.
- Experience in the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) is desirable.
- Relevant experience working across multiple campuses and collaborating with teaching staff and leadership teams is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to lead or experience in leading teams.
- Pastoral leadership and experience in a variety of educational settings.
- Proven exemplary communication and interpersonal skills.
- Hold a current VIT Registration.
