The Role
Lakelands PS is seeking a highly motivated and forward-thinking Year 3–6 Curriculum Deputy Principal to join our experienced and collaborative Leadership Team. This key leadership role works in close partnership with the Principal and wider leadership team to provide strategic direction and drive school improvement, aligning with the school’s vision, priorities, and long-term goals within both the school and broader community.
The successful applicant will lead curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment across Years 3–6, ensuring strong alignment with whole-school approaches. This includes a commitment to explicit instructional practices, as well as the effective implementation of initiatives such as Maths Trek, The Resilience Project, and the school’s Values program. A strong focus will be placed on inclusive education, high-impact teaching strategies, and consistent curriculum delivery across the phase of learning.
A key aspect of the role is the use of data to inform practice. The successful applicant will ideally display the ability to analyse and interpret student performance data, including the use of Elastik, to monitor progress, identify trends, and implement targeted strategies that enhance student outcomes.
The successful applicant should have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the capacity to build and sustain positive relationships with staff, students, families, and the wider community. The Deputy Principal will lead through instructional coaching, mentoring, and the facilitation of high-quality professional learning, supporting staff to strengthen teaching practice and achieve alignment with the school’s business plan and strategic priorities.
