About the RoleReporting to the Foundation Principal, the Deputy Principal will play a pivotal role in establishing the culture, routines, and operational excellence of our new school. This role includes:
- Leadership & School Operations
- Supporting compliance with MACS, VRQA and legislative requirements
- Overseeing daily organisation, staffing, supervision, and timetabling
- Coordinating replacement staffing and supervision rosters
- Leading and supporting Professional Learning Teams (PLTs)
- Managing agendas and minutes for Leadership Meetings
- Assisting with policy development, school events, excursions, and emergency procedures
- Assuming the role of Principal when required
Student Wellbeing & Behaviour
- Leading the implementation of our SEL curriculum
- Supporting staff with behaviour management, restorative practices, and incident recording
- Working with families around wellbeing concerns
- Supporting NCCD processes and student needs
Community & Pastoral Care
- Promoting positive, respectful relationships across the school
- Supporting families in times of grief, challenge, and celebration
- Attending assemblies, liturgical celebrations, and community events
- Establishing a Student Representative Council
Teaching & Learning
- Demonstrating strong curriculum knowledge and effective pedagogical practice
- Supporting explicit instruction, daily review, feedback cycles and high expectations
- Observing teaching practice and engaging in reciprocal peer review
- Reviewing academic reports and supporting data-informed improvement

- A Master’s degree in a relevant field
- Current VIT registration
- Teaching qualifications
- Religious Education Accreditation to teach in a Catholic school
Knowledge & Skills
- Deep understanding of Catholic education and the mission of the Church
- Strong knowledge of the Victorian Curriculum
- Understanding of the science of learning and explicit instruction
- Familiarity with NCCD processes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
