This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and future-focused leader who is committed to continuous improvement and achieving better outcomes for all students. In this role, you will lead strategic school improvement, strengthen student engagement and belonging and drive a whole-school approach to pedagogy.
As the Deputy Principal, you will have responsibility for (but not limited to) the following:
- Partner with the Principal to provide strategic, operational, and instructional leadership that drives continuous school improvement and improved student learning and wellbeing outcomes.
- Lead the implementation of the school's strategic priorities, including whole-school approach to pedagogy, student engagement through multi-tiered systems of support and a culture of high expectations, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Build the capability of middle leaders and teaching teams through coaching, mentoring, feedback, and targeted professional learning to develop expert teachers and highly effective school leaders.
- Lead high-quality teaching, learning, assessment, and moderation practices through evidence-informed and data-driven decision-making that improves student achievement and growth.
- Drive evidence-based Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) to strengthen student engagement, belonging and inclusion.
- Provide line management and strategic leadership for Heads of Department, Heads of Year, and other key staff, ensuring alignment to school improvement priorities and consistent leadership practice.
- Build strong partnerships with students, families, staff, and the wider community to strengthen engagement, trust, and collective responsibility for student success.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and values-driven learning culture where every student can access, participate, engage, and achieve through the school's values of Respect, Responsibility, Resilience, and Relationships.

The successful applicant will be required to lead the following portfolio responsibilities:
- Year 8 Cohort (subject to change to enable cohort progression)
- Whole School Approach to Pedagogy – The Learner
- Whole School student belonging and engagement (MTSS)
- Workplace Health and Safety practices
- Line management of core learning area faculties and LOTE/Education Queensland International (EQi)
