Saint Ignatius’ College Riverview is a Catholic boys’ school in the Jesuit tradition. Located on picturesque grounds in Lane Cove, this leading independent school delivers a holistic education for day and boarding students from Years 5 to 12.
We are seeking an innovative, dynamic and experienced educational leader for the position of Head of Professional Learning to join our team for a max-term contract. In collaboration with key stakeholders, the Head of Professional Learning drives quality teaching and learning through the development and implementation of evidence-based professional learning programs for all staff at the College.
The position is a full-time, 12-month contract, commencing Term 4 2026.The Head of Professional Learning carries a teaching load of 0.2 FTE.
Skills And Experience
The successful candidate will:
- be an outstanding classroom teacher who models best practice teaching and learning
- have a detailed understanding of the NSW curriculum framework, the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers and teacher accreditation processes within NSW including NESA and ISTA
- have a detailed understanding of current teacher review and development processes and the AITSL Australian Teacher Performance and Development Framework

The successful candidate will:
- demonstrate an understanding of current research and developments in quality teaching and learning and best practice professional learning
- build and foster a sense of collaboration among all staff to further embed an innovative teaching and learning development culture
- have experience using mentoring approaches to work with teachers in supporting quality teaching and learning
- demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the Mission and Values of the College
- demonstrate the capacity to develop and sustain strong interpersonal relationships and establish productive partnerships
- demonstrate high level administrative and organisational skills
- excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as highly developed interpersonal skills
- a proactive approach demonstrating personal initiative, adaptability and time management skills
- the ability to multi-task and set priorities with acute attention to detail
