Downlands College is seeking an exceptional leader to join our Executive team as Deputy Principal, commencing in 2027.
The Deputy Principal will provide strategic leadership across academic, pastoral, co-curricular, and administrative areas, uphold the College’s values and mission, oversee staff and major events, and foster a positive wellbeing culture.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Essential
- Extensive experience in senior educational leadership.
- Demonstrated capacity for strategic and operational leadership.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to achieving excellence in education, the communication of an educational vision, and a passion for the development of an educational approach that meets the needs of all students.
- Proven capacity to lead, motivate and inspire teachers to learn and to lead learning, bringing the educational vision to life and encouraging a culture of innovation, professionalism and collaboration.
- Proven ability to undertake research, think and plan strategically, form and carry out action plans, and evaluate outcomes.
- Deep understanding of the call and responsibility of Catholic schools to widely embed the Charism of their Founders
- Current registration, or immediate eligibility for registration with the Queensland College of Teachers
Desirable
- Postgraduate qualifications in education or leadership.
- Experience leading co-curricular programs.
- Experience in emergency management and organisational safety frameworks.
Terms of Appointment
The initial appointment will commence January 2027 and will be for a period of five years with an opportunity to renew at the end of the period, should both parties agree. An attractive salary commensurate with experience and the responsibilities of the position will be offered.
Salary
$153,276 – 164,999 (FTE) plus super
