Role Description The Primary School Teacher role is a full-time, on-site position based at St Columba College in Andrews Farm, SA. The teacher will plan, deliver, and assess engaging learning programs for primary-aged learners aligned with the Australian Curriculum and the College’s educational philosophy. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing differentiated learning activities, managing classroom behavior, providing regular feedback, and maintaining accurate records of learner progress. The role involves communicating with families and caregivers, collaborating with colleagues and support staff, and contributing to whole-school initiatives, pastoral care, and co-curricular programs. The teacher will also participate in professional learning, comply with College policies and procedures, and actively support the Anglican and Catholic ethos of the school.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Teaching and Elementary Education, with experience working with primary-aged learners.
- Competence in Curriculum Development and Education, including planning, implementing, and evaluating learning programs aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
- Effective Communication skills, with the ability to engage learners, collaborate with colleagues, and build positive partnerships with families and caregivers.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Education and current registration (or eligibility for registration) with the appropriate teacher regulatory authority in South Australia.
- Understanding of inclusive education practices and the ability to differentiate learning to meet diverse needs.
- Commitment to ongoing professional learning and reflective practice.
- Willingness to support and contribute to the Anglican and Catholic ethos of the College.
- Current Working With Children Check and compliance with all child safeguarding requirements.
