Morayfield State High School is seeking an inspiring and experienced Head of Department – English to lead curriculum excellence and foster a culture of high expectations, collaboration, and continuous improvement. In this leadership role, you will drive the strategic direction of the English department, leading high-quality teaching and learning, building staff capability, and delivering a shared educational vision that ensures outstanding learning outcomes for every student. This position is a Temporary Full-time role, commencing 6 October 2026 until 10 December 2027, unless otherwise determined.

As the Head of Department, you will:
- Lead curriculum focus in line with school and departmental initiatives.
- Participate in delivering the vision of Early Childhood and State Schools Division.
- Develop the quality of teaching and learning.
- Nurture positive relationships between students, teachers and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead the department to deliver a shared vision focused on high-quality teaching and improved student outcomes.
- Foster an inclusive, high-performing culture through effective leadership, collaboration, and professional learning.
- Build strong partnerships with students, families, and the wider community.
- Provide strategic leadership and manage departmental staff, curriculum, and resources to achieve school priorities.
