Kinross Wolaroi School is a leading co-educational, independent day and boarding school of the Uniting Church, educating young people in regional New South Wales for more than 140 years. The School enrols approximately 1,000 students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12, including more than 330 boarders, and is recognised for its strong academic outcomes, extensive co-curricular program and commitment to student wellbeing.

The Opportunity
The Deputy Principal is a senior executive leadership appointment and serves as the Principal's key operational delegate across the entire School. The role provides whole-school leadership and alignment while ensuring excellence across teaching and learning, wellbeing, boarding and school operations.
Working closely with the Principal, the Deputy Principal will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the School's strategic direction while fostering a high-performance culture across leadership teams and the broader organisation.
This is a rare opportunity to:
- Lead at a whole-school level across Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12.
- Help shape the next phase of Kinross Wolaroi School's strategic direction.
- Work alongside a newly appointed Principal and experienced leadership team.
- Contribute to governance, strategic planning and organisational development.
- Build capability across a large and diverse staff cohort.
- Further develop leadership experience relevant to future principalship and system-level leadership roles.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Executive Leadership
- Act as the Principal's delegate across Pre-K–Year 12 operations.
- Align strategic priorities with operational delivery.
- Provide high-quality advice to the Principal and School Council.
- Represent the Principal at key forums and events as required.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration across academic, wellbeing, boarding and operational areas.
School-Wide Operational Leadership
- Oversee academic programs, pastoral and wellbeing systems, co-curricular programs and student behaviour frameworks.
- Maintain consistent standards and expectations across the School.
- Oversee major school events, assemblies and ceremonies.
- Ensure effective operational systems, staffing arrangements and communication processes.
Culture and Performance
- Lead a high-performance staff culture.
- Drive professional accountability, leadership development and performance management.
- Model exemplary leadership behaviours and maintain a visible presence throughout the School community.
Strategic Implementation
- Lead school improvement initiatives.
- Support innovation in teaching and learning.
- Oversee policy development, onboarding, induction and staff professional learning.
- Support development and implementation of human resource frameworks and strategic priorities.
Governance, Compliance and Community Leadership
- Ensure compliance with child protection, workplace health and safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee risk management and governance processes.
- Build strong relationships with students, staff, families and the broader community.
- Support and enhance the reputation of the School through professional and visible leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES
Essential Experience
Applicants will demonstrate:
- Significant senior executive leadership experience in a K–12 or comparable educational environment.
- Experience leading whole-school operations.
- Proven success leading large teams.
- Demonstrated experience managing organisational and cultural change.
Leadership Capabilities
The successful candidate will possess:
- Strong strategic execution and implementation capability.
- High-level judgement in complex environments.
- Outstanding people leadership and performance management skills.

Employment Details
