The Role
Rosebank College is seeking an exceptional educator and strategic leader to join the College as Director of Stage 3, commencing Term 4, 2026.
With Stage 3 (Year 5) launching in 2027, this role presents a rare opportunity to help shape the next phase of Rosebank’s growing educational offering.
Reporting directly to the Assistant Principal, the Director of Stage 3 will work closely with the Principal, Leadership Team, Deans, and relevant staff to lead the successful establishment and ongoing development of Stage 3 within the College’s broader strategic vision.
The successful candidate will play a key role in designing and implementing a contemporary Stage 3 program within Rosebank’s Primary integration framework, helping establish the academic, pastoral, co-curricular, and operational foundations for this new stage of learning.
Working collaboratively across the College and with all Deans, the Director of Stage 3 will help foster a connected Years 5–12 educational journey that supports student learning, wellbeing, faith formation, and successful transition throughout the College experience.
This role offers the opportunity to establish the structures, systems, and professional culture that will underpin Stage 3 at Rosebank, building a high-performing learning environment grounded in academic excellence, student wellbeing, and pastoral care.

A Strategic Start in Term 4 2026
This position commences in Term 4, 2026, reflecting the College’s commitment to thoughtful succession planning and structured induction.
During this preparation phase, the Director of Stage 3 will receive a 1.0 FTE full release allocation from teaching responsibilities to:
- Build strong professional relationships across the College
- Engage deeply with Rosebank’s mission, values, and culture
- Develop strategic and operational plans for the launch of Stage 3 in 2027
- Collaborate closely with the Stage 3 teaching team and College leaders
- Establish the structures, systems, and professional culture that will underpin Stage 3
The Stage 3 teaching team will receive full release time during Term 4, 2026, to support planning, collaboration, and readiness for the commencement of the 2027 school year.
2027 Teaching and Leadership Allocation
The Director of Stage 3 position includes:
- 0.6 FTE teaching allocation
- 0.4 FTE leadership release allocation
This structure reflects the College’s commitment to instructional leadership, relational presence, and strategic program development.
The additional release time and top-up are provided in the inaugural year. Following this period, Operational planning and additional release time for 2028 and beyond, will be reviewed after the inaugural year, ensuring it continues to align with the evolving needs of the College and the Stage 3 program.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Director of Stage 3 will:
- Lead curriculum design and implementation aligned to the NSW Primary Curriculum
- Lead and mentor the Stage 3 teaching team
- Establish effective assessment, moderation, and collaborative planning practices
- Drive literacy and numeracy development through evidence-based teaching and learning
- Foster a strong culture of belonging, wellbeing, and student voice grounded in the College’s Good Samaritan Benedictine tradition
- Lead student formation and pastoral initiatives through authentic, relational leadership
- Work collaboratively with families, wellbeing teams, Deans, and College leaders to support student growth, engagement, and flourishing
- Promote high standards of student wellbeing, behaviour, and engagement through restorative practices
- Strengthen continuity and alignment across the Years 5–12 learning and wellbeing framework
- Support students and families through a connected and successful transition into the Secondary years
- Contribute to a unified College culture that promotes belonging, identity, and academic excellence across Years 5–12.

You are reflective, relational, ambitious, and committed to the holistic growth and flourishing of young people.
Essential Requirements - Postgraduate or Master's qualification in Leadership, Theology, Religious Studies, or Education (completed, currently undertaking, or due to commence)
- More than three years of Primary leadership experience (highly desirable)
- Proven experience as a middle leader with a minimum of 4-5 years
- NESA-approved teaching qualifications
- Current NESA accreditation and approval to teach in NSW (Highly Accomplished or Lead Level)
- Demonstrated success teaching Stage 3
- Strong knowledge of the NSW Primary Curriculum
- Experience using data to inform teaching practice
- Valid Working with Children Check
- Commitment to child safeguarding principles
- Support for the Catholic ethos and values of the College
