We are seeking a strategic educational leader for a temporary full-time position until 11 December 2026, unless otherwise determined. The successful candidate will provide visionary leadership, uphold the highest standards of integrity and professionalism, lead continuous school improvement, and develop strong partnerships with staff, families, and the wider community.
Who We Are
Wulguru State Schoolfirst opened in 1962, and we are in an outer southern suburb of Townsville. Wulguru State School is a primary school catering for Prep to Year 6 students. There are 8 classes. There are a number of composite classes. Wulguru is a warm, friendly school with staff committed to doing whatever it takes to ensure each child is progressing. The current enrolment is approximately 200 students. Our students come from diverse backgrounds.
Our school rules are “Be fair, be safe and be your best”and we expect our students to follow them. The school prides itself on its sporting achievements and the emphasis is placed on displaying that “Wulguru spirit”, rather than winning. The school boasts some excellent facilities from our amazing library and air-conditioned hall to the variety of playgrounds, covered basketball court, automated watered oval, wireless network, computer labs and extensive technological devices.

- Build leadership capacity through continuous learning by engaging in lifelong professional development and promoting a culture of ongoing improvement across the school community.
- Strengthen partnerships and governance by collaborating effectively with parents, community organisations, government agencies, and industry while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policy.
- Lead strategically and manage resources effectively by planning for the future, making informed decisions, and allocating resources to achieve the school's vision and goals.
