About The Opportunities
Business and Economics Teacher
The successful applicant will teach Business and Economics across Years 10-12, with a particular focus on SACE Business Innovation and Economics. We are seeking a teacher who can inspire students to think critically about contemporary economic issues, entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership while achieving strong academic outcomes.
Health, PE and Outdoor Education (Years 6 – 12) and other curriculum areas
The successful applicant will teach Physical Education, Health and Outdoor Education across Years 6-12 and may contribute to other curriculum areas aligned with their qualifications and experience. We are seeking a teacher who can inspire students to push beyond their comfort zones, build wellbeing and resilience, and develop the skills and confidence to lead active, healthy and purposeful lives.

Leadership Opportunities
Mercedes College is also seeking applications for two POR2 Learning Area Leader positions.
- POR2 Learning Area Leader, Humanities Fixed-Term (2 years)

These leadership roles provide an opportunity to support educational excellence through instructional leadership, curriculum development, staff mentoring and the ongoing enhancement of student learning outcomes.

About You
You are an engaging, collaborative and student-centred educator who is committed to excellence in teaching and learning and to supporting young people to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
You Will Bring
- Demonstrated experience teaching within the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE), preferably including Stage 1 and Stage 2 Business Innovation and/or Economics.
- Demonstrated experience teaching Business and Economics and/or Health, Physical Education and Outdoor Education, with the ability to deliver engaging, high-quality learning programs and achieve positive student outcomes.
- A strong understanding of contemporary curriculum design, assessment and reporting practices.
- The ability to create engaging, inquiry-based learning experiences that challenge students to think critically, act ethically and achieve their personal best.
- A commitment to evidence-informed practice and continuous improvement.
- Strong organisational, communication and relationship-building skills.
- The capacity to contribute positively to collaborative teams and professional learning communities.
- A passion for fostering student wellbeing, engagement and achievement.
- Confidence in using contemporary technologies to enhance teaching and learning.
- Experience supporting senior secondary students to achieve strong academic outcomes and prepare for post-school pathways.
- A commitment to the values and mission of Catholic education and the Mercy tradition of Mercedes College.

Qualifications And Training
Applicants must hold:
- A recognised teaching qualification and registration with the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia.
- A current Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- RRHAN-EC Fundamentals and Masterclass training.
- First Aid Certificate HLTAID012.
