The Opportunity
We are seeking a suitably qualified Teacher for the following Permanent position.
YEARS 7-9 ENGLISH TEACHER - PERMANENT
This is a permanent position within the Middle School (7-9) at St Joseph’s School, Murray Bridge, with the possibility of teaching another minor subject area. The FTE will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
The Teacher Will
- Apply curriculum knowledge and pedagogical practices which facilitate successful learning;
- Respond to learner’s needs;
- Develop and maintain positive and effective working relationships;
- Differentiate teaching to meet the specific learning needs of students across the full range of abilities including developing Personalised Plans for Learning (PPL’s), as appropriate;
- Plan, assess student learning and report achievement against the standards using the SEQTA platform.
- Create and maintain supportive and safe learning environments;
Professional Responsibilities
- Actively implement safeguarding practices in accordance with the National Catholic Safeguarding Standards and school policies.
- Fulfil all requirements of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
- Actively commit to upholding and contributing to the ethos of Catholic schools in general as well as that of a Josephite school.
- Comply with relevant legislation as well as South Australian Commission for Catholic Schools (SACCS) and the school’s policies, guidelines and procedures.
- Meet and teach students at designated locations and times.
- Diligently undertake supervision duties and adhere to the Protective Practices for Education.
- Maintain professional boundaries and model respectful behaviour.
Qualifications And Training
- SA Teachers Registration
- Working with Children Check
- Approved Mandatory Notification training – Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care certificates (Masterclass & Fundamental courses)
- Keeping Safe: Child Protection Curriculum certificate
- First Aid Certificate
- Be willing to undertake Teacher Accreditation in Catholic Education SA training, along with any other compulsory training necessary for the role.

A Country Establishment Allowance is available for teachers’ moving to the country to undertake employment in a Catholic Education SA Country School for the first time.
