Kelvin Grove State College is seeking applicants for a Coach position: English that will work alongside another Coach: English, to distribute leadership responsibilities more broadly across our large college. The successful applicant will support Head of Department: English in leading the English department and embedding whole-of-college ways of working in relation to curriculum, pedagogy and staff capability development.

About The Role
This role will operate within the role description of Coach and has been implemented to:
- support the leadership of Heads of Department in creating a dynamic and innovative learning environment;
- more broadly and sustainably distribute leadership responsibilities; and
- provide more formalised pathways for aspiring middle leaders.
Responsibilities
- work collaboratively with and support the Head of Department: English to shape and implement strategic planning and foster a positive collegial culture within the department;
- lead the development, implementation and review of specified curriculum programs, faculty initiatives and activities;
- lead the development, implementation and review of teaching and learning strategies in specified programs;
- contribute to the development of workforce capability, through the leadership of specified professional development and the targeted coaching and mentoring of staff;
- undertake specified administrative tasks; and
- deputise for the Head of Department, as required.
As a Coach, you will be allocated two additional non-teaching lines and are line-managed by your respective Head of Department. The Head of Department: Pedagogy and Learning and the Head of Department: Middle School also work with you to support their capability development and consistent ways of working.

Applicants should have experience in the English curriculum, from year 7 to year 12, and have the ability to work collaboratively and respectfully within a team environment. The ideal candidate will set high standards for student and staff performance, be futures oriented and strategic, and provide a holistic and proactive approach to supporting the leadership of a large and complex department area in alignment with the college's strategic priorities.
