About The Role
As the Head of Department, you will lead the curriculum focus in line with school and departmental initiatives, contribute to delivering the vision of the Early Childhood and State Schools Division, develop the quality of teaching and learning, and nurture positive relationships between students, teachers, and stakeholders.
Your Responsibilities
As the Head of Department - Mathematics, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Provide strong leadership to guide high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across the Mathematics faculty.
- Lead the department the delivery the Australian Curriculum v.9 whilst contributing strategically to whole-school improvement, embedding evidence-based strategies to improve student outcomes.
- Foster a culture of high expectations, supporting both staff and students to achieve excellence and reach their full potential in Mathematics.
- Support and develop teachers through mentoring, collaborative planning, and professional learning opportunities both in and outside the classroom.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, families and the wider community to strengthen engagement and success.
- Oversee the management of human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources to ensure the effective operation of the department and support whole-school goals.
