The Role: Educate, Inspire, and Lead the Future of Sport
As an educator with the Academy of Sport, you’ll deliver fast-tracked diploma-level qualifications in sport management, leadership, and project management. This isn’t just teaching it’s bringing theory to life, applying it in real-world contexts, and mentoring the next generation of sport professionals.
You’ll work closely with students, industry partners, and the TAFE Queensland team to ensure learning is engaging, practical, and aligned with the realities of today’s sports sector.
We Are Currently Seeking - One experienced educator to deliver and assess:
- SIS50321 – Diploma of Sport
- BSB50420 – Diploma of Leadership and Management
At the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles Business Academy in NSW.
- Two experienced educators to deliver and assess a combination of:
- BSB50420 – Diploma of Leadership and Management
- SIS50321 – Diploma of Sport
- BSB50820 – Diploma of Project Management
At the Parramatta Eels Institute in NSW.
These roles involve the full cycle of education from course delivery and assessment to mentoring students through work experience opportunities. Your insights will help students launch successful careers in areas such as sports administration, coaching, event and game development, and more.

- A strong background in the sports industry, ideally with experience in leadership, coaching, or project management
- Proven ability to deliver engaging, high-impact training
- Experience in contextualising and delivering vocational education and training

While students come from a range of sporting codes, a strong understanding of rugby league is highly desirable to align with the contextualised learning in these programs.

Salary
The salary range for a Teacher is $92,930.03 - $116,332.13 (gross) per annum plus superannuation contributions of 12.75% of your salary.

Key Responsibilities
- Display teaching competence and a commitment to a student-centred approach.
- Lead and manage effective teaching and learning within classroom, workplace, simulated and online learning environments with a focus on student engagement, progression and success.
- Utilise flexible, blended and inclusive learning techniques, options and products which are responsive to various student cohorts, including commencing students and those with priority needs.
- Design, develop and implement assessment tools and processes that meet industry skills standards (i.e. endorsed components from National Training Packages).
- Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance the quality of training and assessment provided to students.
- Develop effective working relationships with students, client groups and staff by participating in team meetings, industry reference groups, student events and forums, inviting feedback and engaging in reflection.
- Ensure that students adopt, and practise accepted safety procedures and sustainability in the learning and assessment environment.
- Contribute to planning, design, development, implementation and review of educational programs.
- Participate in relevant professional learning activities to develop and maintain currency of personal and professional skills, knowledge and attitudes for both industry and learning, teaching and assessment.
- Undertake general administration duties including monitoring of student attendance and progression, facilitating access to educational support and providing effective feedback and advice.
- Contribute to the success of transformation and cultural change through promoting and modelling the established values of Safety First, Working Together, Focussing on our Customer, Taking Responsibility and Showing Initiative.
How You Will Be Assessed
- Possess skills and knowledge of national training packages and accredited courses to support competency development and the ability to respond positively to industry and individual needs.
- Demonstrate capacity for best practice in the management of teaching and learning activities including the development of industry relevant, flexible, innovative, technology enhanced learning options, training products and solutions.
- Demonstrate capacity for initiative, self-management, teamwork and sustainable practice, with the ability to accept, promote and manage change using tarawell-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrate commitment to self-development with the focus on maintaining skills contemporary industry and teaching practices and the use of educational technologies and Learning Management Systems to support learning.
- Possess sound knowledge of safe, equitable and anti-discriminatory work practices and demonstrate ability to be flexible, inclusive, responsive and deliver quality student experience.
Mandatory Requirements
Applicants must possess the following:
- Vocational competencies at least to the level being delivered and assessed;
- SIS50321 – Diploma of Sport
- BSB50420 - Diploma of Leadership and Management
- BSB50820 - Diploma of Project Management
- current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided;
- current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs the training and assessment provided;
- evidence of undertaking professional development in the fields of the knowledge and practice of vocational training, learning and assessment including competency-based training and assessment;

Additionally, to become a TAFE Teacher, you must hold one of the following training and assessment credentials:
- TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or its successor; or
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or
- TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; plus:
- TAELLN411 or its successor or TAELLN401A; and
- TAEASS502 or its successor or TAEASS502A or TAEASS502B; or
- A credential issued by a higher education provider which would enable the individual to satisfy the academic requirements for registration as a secondary school teacher and one (1) of the following credentials:
- TAESS00024 VET Delivered to School Students Teacher Enhancement Skill Set or its successor, or
- TAESS00019 Assessor Skill Set or its successor; or
- TAESS00011 Assessor Skill Set; or
- A diploma or higher-level qualification in adult or vocational education (approved by TAFE Queensland).
