We are now inviting expressions of interest from passionate and dedicated educators to join our Foundation Year teaching team on a casual basis commencing Friday 13 February 2026.
Teaching Areas
We are seeking educators with expertise in one or more of the following fields:
- English
- Accounting
- Economics
- Mathematics
- Information Technology (ICT)
- Humanities (Global Studies)
Applicants who are suitably qualified and experienced may be appointed to teach multiple units.
About The Program
Monash College’s Foundation Year is a pre-university academic program designed for international students aspiring to study at Monash University. Equivalent to Year 12, the program is developed in partnership with Monash academics and provides pathways into the first year of all ten Monash University faculties.
About The Role
As a Casual Relief Teacher, you will play a vital role in maintaining learning continuity during staff absences, ensuring that students continue to receive high-quality, supportive education. You will be part of a collegial team and supported to deliver contemporary, flexible teaching in a multicultural environment.
Casual Relief Teachers undertake the teaching allocation and associated assessment and administration tasks of the class they are teaching for the duration of their assignment.
Casual Engagement Details
- Engagement on a daily ($430.32) or half-daily ($215.15) basis
- Minimum 24 hours’ notice for cancellations

You are an experienced and passionate teacher who thrives in multicultural learning environments and is committed to supporting international students to succeed academically and personally.
You Will Bring
- Experience teaching students from non-English speaking backgrounds
- A strong ability to collaborate within diverse, multicultural teams
- Skills in identifying students at risk and providing appropriate intervention
- The capacity to challenge and extend high-achieving students
- A proven commitment to pastoral care and student wellbeing
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (postgraduate qualifications preferred)
- Teaching qualification or a minimum of two years’ teaching experience
- Current Working With Children Check or VIT registration
