Nursing Teacher - Vocational Placement Team TAFE QLD Gold Coast

We are looking for someone who can build strong partnerships with health providers while supporting students from classroom to workplace readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, student-centred teaching and assessment across classroom, simulated, workplace and online environments, supporting student engagement, progression and successful placement outcomes.
- Coordinate, manage and allocate vocational placements in collaboration with hospitals, health services, community organisations and other industry partners.
- Prepare and support students throughout the full placement lifecycle, including pre-placement readiness, compliance requirements, monitoring progression and completion.
- Design, implement and assess learning and assessment activities aligned to National Training Packages, industry standards and workplace practice.
- Liaise proactively with industry stakeholders to establish, maintain and strengthen placement partnerships and respond to placement-related enquiries and issues.
- Monitor and maintain placement documentation, attendance, hours and records in line with organisational, regulatory and training package requirements.
- Apply flexible, blended and inclusive teaching and support strategies to meet the needs of diverse student cohorts, including commencing students and those with priority needs.
- Ensure students practise safe work behaviours, professional conduct and sustainability principles within learning and placement environments.
- Undertake administrative duties including data entry, reporting, tracking student attendance and progression, and providing timely feedback and support.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, professional development and program review activities, while actively modelling TAFE Queensland’s values: Safety First Working Together | Focusing on our Customer | Taking Responsibility | Showing Initiative.
How You Will Be Assessed
The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:
- Possess skills and knowledge of national training packages and accredited courses to support competency development and the ability to respond positively to industry and individual needs.
- Demonstrate capacity for best practice in the management of teaching and learning activities including the development of industry relevant, flexible, innovative, technology enhanced learning options, training products and solutions.
- Demonstrate capacity for initiative, self-management, teamwork and sustainable practice, with the ability to accept, promote and manage change through the use of well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrate commitment to self-development with the focus on maintaining skills contemporary industry and teaching practices and the use of educational technologies and Learning Management Systems to support learning.
- Possess sound knowledge of safe, equitable and anti-discriminatory work practices and demonstrate ability to be flexible, inclusive, responsive and deliver quality student experience.
Mandatory Qualifications/Requirements
Possession of one of the following training and assessment credentials:
- TAE40122 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or its successor
- TAE40116 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
- TAE40110 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- TAE50111 - Diploma of Vocational Education and Training.
- TAE50116 - Diploma of Vocational Education and Training; or its successor.
- TAE50211 - Diploma of Training Design and Development.
- TAE50216 - Diploma of Training Design and Development, or its successor.
- Higher level qualification in adult education (approved by TAFE Queensland).
Highly Desirable
- Enrolled Nurse
- Recent Health or Community Services Qualification
