About The Role
As Head of Department (Curriculum) at Brisbane SDE you will play a vital strategic role as a member of a high performing leadership team. The successful applicant will make a significant contribution to the following key areas:
- Strategic curriculum leadership P-12
- Instructional leadership across key learning areas including English, Science, HPE
- Contribute to the positive school culture as a key faculty leader
- Support teachers and develop capability
- Contribute to whole school initiatives as a member of the senior leadership team
- Develop annual implementation plans and manage resources
- Supervise teacher aides
Responsibilities Include, But Not Limited To
- Lead curriculum areas or whole-school programs to develop and commit to a shared vision focused on high-quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Embed socially just practices while maintaining high expectations for student achievement and staff performance.
- Engage in ongoing professional learning and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Build and sustain partnerships with students, parents, government agencies, and the wider community.
- Apply strategic, future-focused thinking while managing resources effectively and operating within relevant legislation and policy.
