About the role
Federation TAFE's Youth program delivers the Victorian Certificate of Education - Vocational Major to young people aged 16-19 years. The Youth program promotes a 'learning to be an adult' environment where teachers assist young people to deal with barriers and create success in their lives throughout their learning journey.
Federation TAFE is home to vocational education and training delivered by Federation University Australia and offers a broad range of quality education and training programs, reflecting state and national priorities that address the training needs of individuals and industry. Our TAFE Teachers are responsible for the delivery and assessment of quality vocational education and training (VET) programs. Encompassing all facets of the learning cycle, the position is required to manage the end-to-end learning process for students from initial enquiry to final assessment using a variety of teaching strategies including recognition of prior learning, online and workplace learning, delivery and assessment as well as traditional classroom delivery.
You will:
- plan, prepare deliver and assess training programs;
- monitor, assess and record student attendance, progress and results;
- participate in internal and external contractual audits; and
- evaluate student teaching and learning resources.
About you
Reporting to the Program Manager, you will have the ability to research, develop and implement innovative and appropriate teaching curriculum while effectively utilising online learning platforms and technologies. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to complete administrative tasks, including the ability to maintain accurate online and physical records. You will possess a genuine desire to work with young people and improve their lives.
You will possess demonstrated:
- current vocational skills and knowledge;
- experience responding to student learning needs;
- experience in monitoring and assessing student learning;
- experience in establishing and maintaining collaborative relations ships with students, parents and broader school community; and
- hold current registration with the Victoria Institute of Teaching (VIT).
