An exciting opportunity exists at Mountain Creek State High School for a motivated and energetic Business Manager (Special Education) to join our team.
The role spans operational coordination, compliance with departmental policies, and a significant level of support to high-need students and parents in the area of special education.
The position is on a full-time temporary basis of 5 days per week from 13 July to 15 January 2027.
The hours for this position are 7:00 to 3:45 pm - 7.25 hours per day + 1 additional hour per day (total 8.25 hours per day) to continue wages during school holidays.

Your Role
This role is responsible for coordinating a range of operational, administrative, and supervisory activities to ensure the effective delivery of support services within the school environment.
This includes supervising SWD Teacher Aides, overseeing rostering and attendance management, processing payroll and HR-related tasks and assisting the Business Manager (HR) in coordinating training, development, and induction programs.
Importantly, this position also performs a range of interrelated tasks related to SWD student support and welfare: supervising students with high needs, managing medical plans, addressing student and family inquiries, maintaining records within multiple areas within OneSchool and organising programs and support for the Special Education Unit.
Responsibilities Include
- Staff Supervision, Rostering & Task Prioritisation - Coordinate and oversee the supervision and rostering of SWD Teacher Aides, ensuring appropriate staff allocations while efficiently managing leave, payroll, and timesheets. Prioritise tasks and adjust rosters in a dynamic school environment to align with student needs and respond to operational demands.
- Student Support & Welfare - Assist with student supervision for students with high needs, maintain accurate medical records, oversee compliance with individual medical plans, and liaise with teachers and parents to support student well-being.
- Project & Event Coordination - Plan and implement staff training, student support initiatives, and large-scale school events, such as excursions and special education activities.
- Policy Compliance & Resource Management - Ensure adherence to school and departmental policies, oversee student support resources (eg. sensory rooms), and contribute to funding applications and compliance reporting.

In addition to this, by working an extra hour each day (known as ADO), you will be entitled to take the end of term breaks with pay equivalent to your employment roster. (Note: some staff rostering is necessary during school holiday periods.)
