Rasmussen State School is seeking a Head of Department - Student Services to coordinate support for vulnerable students, including students in out-of-home care and those experiencing complex personal or family circumstances.
The successful applicant will work closely with the Principal, leadership team, staff, families, carers, Child Safety, and external agencies to ensure students are supported, connected and able to engage successfully at school.
The position requires a relational, organised and student-centred leader who can work sensitively with complex families and external organisations to promote stability, wellbeing and positive outcomes.

This role will focus on strengthening case management, improving communication between school and key stakeholders, supporting staff to understand and respond to student needs, and ensuring appropriate plans and interventions are in place.
Responsibilities Include
- Provide leadership and guidance for the implementation of innovative measures aimed at improving student learning outcomes and attendance in schools where a significant percentage of students may have a disadvantaged background, ensuring quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Where requested, prepare all data returns for the Principal.
- Provide management and engagement strategies including induction activities of new arrivals, and advise on specific academic, social and emotional needs of new arrivals.
