Position Purpose
The purpose of the role is to design and deliver professional learning for teachers and leaders. This includes modes such as in-school consultancies, remote learning sessions, group presentations, conferences, demonstration lessons, instructional coaching, and more.
The areas of focus for the role will be to respond to requests from schools for support and advice across the breadth of the K-6 curriculum, teaching and learning. This includes working collaboratively with schools across the state to implement new syllabus documents, enhance existing teaching and learning practices and offer targeted guidance informed by curriculum, assessment and pedagogical expertise.
Key Accountabilities
- Design and deliver professional learning programs, grounded in adult learning principles, to strengthen the capability of school leaders and teachers
- Deliver expert guidance, advice, and support to schools in interpreting and implementing the NSW K–6 syllabuses, tailored to align with each school’s educational philosophy, organisational structure, and the specific needs of their students
- Develop and provide high-quality curriculum resources, frameworks, and tools to support schools in strengthening teaching and learning.
- Maintain and enhance understanding of current and empirical educational research, including impactful approaches to teaching and learning.
Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge/Skills
Qualifications
- Undergraduate education qualifications.
- Master’s qualifications will be viewed favourably.
What Experience are we looking for?
- Experience and expertise in primary teaching and/or leadership in primary or K-12 school settings in New South Wales
- Experience in building and strengthening professional relationships in diverse settings.
- Thorough understanding of the current K-6 New South Wales Curriculum.

Essential
- Must hold a valid NSW Working with Children Check.
- Current NSW Driver’s Licence is required.
- Capacity to travel across metropolitan Sydney and regional areas of NSW, including car travel and flights, overnight stays that may extend to consecutive nights.
Desirable
- Understanding of the NSW independent school sector and the role of Independent Schools NSW as a peak body and member-based service organisation.
- Experience in high impact teaching strategies, and/or working with EAL/D students will be considered favourably.
