PHYSICS TEACHER
Position Details
St Luke’s College is seeking a passionate and dedicated Physics Teacher to join our team in 2027. We are particularly interested in applicants with experience teaching ATAR Physics and a strong commitment to academic excellence. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic educator who can inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of scientific discovery in young people. As a Physics Teacher at St Luke’s College, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced Physics teachers in a collaborative and supportive learning environment. You will collaborate to design and deliver exciting and innovative learning programs, with opportunities for team teaching, shared planning, and learning from one another's expertise. The successful applicant will ideally have experience teaching ATAR Physics and a proven ability to prepare students for success in senior secondary studies and post-school pathways. Through practical investigations, inquiry-based learning, and real-world applications of Physics, you will inspire curiosity about the physical world while developing students’ critical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific literacy skills and nurturing a passion for science, technology, engineering, and related careers.
Selection Criteria
- Create a positive and inclusive Physics classroom environment that engages and challenges all learners through hands-on inquiry and real-world application of scientific principles.
- Demonstrate expertise in teaching Science, with a strong preference for ATAR Physics, including the ability to deliver rigorous senior secondary content with clarity and depth.
- Develop innovative, curriculum-aligned Physics learning programs that build students’ critical thinking, problem-solving, experimental design, and scientific literacy skills.
- Collaborate closely with experienced Physics and Science colleagues to strengthen the Science Learning Area through shared planning, team teaching opportunities, and professional dialogue.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills, fostering positive and respectful teacher–student relationships that support high levels of engagement, achievement, and aspiration in Physics related pathways.
Additional Financial Incentives
- Fortnightly location allowance of $148.63 for singles and $297.25 for those with dependents.
- $6000 yearly bonus after a full year of service.
- Paid long service leave for each year of service within that school at twice the applicable rate.
- Entitled to take long service leave after completing three years' continuous service at the College. Normally seven at CEWA schools and ten in government schools.
- CEWA pays 100% of teachers water bill.
- Subsidised electricity bills.
- CEWA provides a gardener for your property once a fortnight.
- Return flights to Karratha at the end of each year for teachers and their immediate family members. Reimbursement is up to the value of $2100 per person.
Qualifications Required
- Current WWC
- TRBWA registration (or ability to obtain)
- Tertiary qualification in Education.
- Relevant qualifications and teaching certification in Science.
