The Employable Teacher Register (ETR) is for people seeking employment as a teacher with the Department for Education.
By submitting an ETR application, you can be considered for temporary teaching roles within the Department, providing you meet all of the department’s employment requirements. You can also apply for advertised positions directly.
Employment requirements include evidence of Australian residency or current work permit, South Australian teacher registration, Working With Children Check, Responding to Abuse and Neglect, Education and Care Training, an appropriate First Aid certification and evidence of qualifications. You will need an email address to apply. If you do not have an email address you can set up a free email account with either Yahoo or Hotmail.
Registration is ongoing – once your ETR application is approved and you have received your Authority to Teach, you do not need to re-apply each year to stay on the ETR. Updates to your application, details and availability can be made at any time and you will need to let us know when your circumstances change. Please ensure you resubmit your application whenever you update it.
