ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL
Position Details
Our Lady of Mount Carmel School is seeking an experienced, committed and enthusiastic Assistant Principal to join our leadership team. The successful applicant will demonstrate strong pastoral care skills and support the Principal across the domains of Catholic Identity, Education, Community and Stewardship.
We are seeking an exemplary leader with expertise in Religious Education, curriculum leadership, data-informed practice and educational technologies, together with a passion for student wellbeing and academic excellence.
Our Lady of Mount Carmel School is a single-stream Catholic co-educational primary school in Hilton, catering for students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6. In partnership with the Parish of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, we are committed to nurturing the spiritual, academic, social and emotional growth of every child.

- Proven ability to lead school improvement and promote excellence in teaching and learning.
- Highly effective classroom practitioner with strong curriculum and assessment knowledge.
- Ability to use student achievement and wellbeing data to improve outcomes.
- Strong understanding of student wellbeing, engagement and inclusion.
- Capacity to lead innovative and effective use of technology in teaching and learning.
Community
- Ability to build positive and collaborative relationships with students, staff, parents, parish, CEWA and the wider community.
- Proven leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to culturally responsive practices that support First Nations students and families.
Stewardship
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Ability to coach, mentor and develop staff.
- Capacity to contribute to strategic planning and school improvement.
- Commitment to the effective stewardship of school resources.
Qualifications Required
- Accreditation to Lead in a Catholic School.
- Relevant Bachelor qualification.
- Postgraduate qualification - Masters (or working towards completion).
- Minimum seven years' teaching experience.
- Demonstrated leadership experience as an Assistant Principal.
