The Role
Coomera Anglican College is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Secondary Health and Physical Education (HPE) Teacher to join our Secondary team in a full-time position commencing in 2027.
This is an exciting opportunity for an educator who is passionate about inspiring young people to lead active, healthy lives. You will deliver engaging and contemporary HPE programs across Years 7-10, creating meaningful learning experiences both in the classroom and through practical activities that build students’ knowledge, skills and confidence.
Experience teaching Senior HPE is highly regarded, with the potential for opportunities to teach Years 11-12 in the future.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Delivering high-quality HPE teaching and learning across Years 7-10.
- Planning engaging classroom and practical learning experiences that cater for diverse abilities and learning needs.
- Creating a positive, inclusive and safe environment where students are encouraged to participate and achieve their personal best.
- Assessing student learning and providing meaningful and timely feedback.
- Building strong and respectful relationships with students, colleagues and families.
- Collaborating with colleagues to support curriculum development and continuous improvement.
At Coomera Anglican College, teaching extends beyond the classroom. An important part of the teaching role is active involvement in College life, including pastoral care, sport, cocurricular programs and special events that enrich the student experience.
About You
We are looking for a teacher who brings energy, professionalism and a genuine passion for HPE.
The Successful Candidate Will Ideally Demonstrate
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Education with the ability to teach Secondary HPE.
- Current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration.
- Strong knowledge of contemporary HPE curriculum and teaching practice.
- The ability to engage and motivate students across a range of abilities and interests.
- A commitment to creating positive, inclusive and engaging learning environments.
- Strong communication, organisation and relationship-building skills.
- A collaborative approach and willingness to contribute positively to the broader College community.
- Commitment to the Anglican ethos and active support for the values and culture of the College.
- A strong commitment to child safety and the wellbeing of children and young people.
- An understanding of appropriate professional boundaries and standards when working with children and young people.
